Special Events for Writers at KillerCon

Only two and a half months remain until the awesomeness that is KillerCon IV in Las Vegas, and our excitement grows by the day! As July approaches, we wanted to remind the attending writers that we have quite a few writer-related contests and activities going on that you might want to take note of. Below, you'll find more information from our website. 

Don’t forget about our writers workshops, the first from Guest of Honor Grammar Girl Mignon Fogarty! Mignon’s workshop takes place on Friday, September 21 (time to be announced). And for prose, R.J. Cavender of Cutting Block Press is running the "Self-Editing for Fiction Writers Workshop" based on the fantastic book of the same name by Rennie Browne and Dave King. This workshop takes place on Saturday, September 22 (time to be announced). Both workshops cost $35 individually, but why not combine them and save? Gross-out Contest

You remember it, you loved it, you can't wait to be a part of it! Here is where you let all those disgusting thoughts that ramble rotting and foul around your brain ooze onto the anticipatory public. They want your phlegm, your puss, your rancid ramblings. 

This crowd favorite is sponsored once again by Deadite Press and dare we say, MC'd by once again by the wonderfully entertaining Jeremy Robert Johnson, so bring your A-game and leave no terrible stone unturned. There should not be enough brain bleach in the world to clear out what you can unleash.

Creative Fiction Contest

What you need: A writing utensil, some paper and a jump-start imagination.

What you get: A prompt, 15 minutes and the chance to show off!

Oh, and a prize if you win.

Come ready to wow and prove you’re not just a pretty face (though it is a lovely face).

Erotic Horror Flash Fiction Contest

Before heading off to the late night parties or sneaking off to hit the slot machines, blackjack tables, and strip clubs (oh, I know you better than you know yourselves) how about a little erotica to prime the pump? Announcing the Fourth annual Erotic Horror Flash Fiction Contest! 

Each contestant will have 3 minutes to arouse and terrify. This is not a Gross-out contest! We want romance and sensuality and genuine chills and terrors. Stories will be judged by our celebrity judges on style, originality, scariness, sexiness, and delivery. Winners will receive valuable (and possibly useful *oh my*) prizes.
